Brushed Paint Technique with DCAM

Hey guys!

Spardha here from The Lazy Owl Designs with an awesome technique I'd like to share with you today :)

So, like I promised, this one shall be the last Diwali post from my end and we'll be moving on to Christmas celebrations. Today, I'd like to share with you a brushed paint technique using dry embossing pads.

Embossing pads are fairly easy to use and provide you with a great texture for your project backgrounds as they are but they are super fun to use with added colours. Instead of using an ink pad, I dipped a dry paint brush into thick golden paint and swiped it on the embossing pad.
Inserting a solid white sheet of paper and embossing it using my Sizzix machine transferred the design with a beautiful washed-out colour effect on the card matt.

I added the diya cut-out with some "bling" and gold embossed sentiment to complete the look.

Diwali Shaker Card with DCAM Die Set

Hey guys!
Spardha here today from The Lazy Owl Designs.
We wish you great health and prosperiety for the year and we hope you had a GREAT celebration for Diwali.

I'm here to share this amazing project I came up with while experimenting with DCAM Diya Die Cut Set. As you know, the dies are super clean-cutting and so easy to use, it is so much fun working with them.

I pre-cut a bunch of diya sets (mainly because I was having fun) but it gets really easy to mix and match colours once you have a couple of pre-cut designs with you.
Using red cardstock as a base for the card and cutting out the diya framework on the thick golden cardstock. I added a the double sided foam tape for the dimension and filled up the pocket with these gorgeous set of sequins.

Adding some finishing touches with gold embossed sentiment, flowers and twine.
I love how it turned out and I had a blast working with putting the designs together!

Diwali Card and Envelope Set using DCAM Dies

Hey guys!

Spardha taking over the DCAM blog today with some festive inspiration.

Diwali season is quickly approaching us and if you haven't yet, just stop what you're doing for a minute and see outside your window and take in the fresh magical air. As you can tell, I really  LOVE festive season and of course I made another greetings set for some lovely people I know.

I prepared the base of the card with a white matt on red cardstock and used strokes of gold paint to give my background a fine texture.
It was then a matter of me cutting out this BEAUTIFUL diya die cut using different colours and putting it together to create some dimension.

Look at the fine cut edges, this die is so smooth!
And since I didn't want to hide this beautiful card, I ended up DIY-ing my own envelope using a vellum sheet and adding some festive sequins to send someone a party-in-a-bag!

Hope you like this project, don't forget to share your wonderful Diwali creations made using DCAM dies and sheets!

Diwali Gift Tags with DCAM Critter Sheets

Hey guys!

Spardha here from The Lazy Owl Designs today with some Diwali inspiration for you.
Is it that time already? YES!

I'm sure you do too, but I simply LOVE this time of the year when the festivities begin starting with the beautiful weather, all these decorative lights and food. Oh, and let's not forget the gifts.

Which brings me to today's post where I've made these gorgeous gift tags for all your present needs {okay, this was not the best of my puns} using DCAM Critter Sheets.
Do you realise how easy these sheets make your life?

I used some glitter foam as a background mat and to add a bit of dimension to the cards, cutting out some of these adorable graphics from the sheet and layering them on with pearls, sequins and bows.
The best part?
You can make a bunch of these with just one sheet. And of course, these are so cute.

Hope you guys have started cleaning up and decorating your homes.
Happy Festive Season!

Diwali cards with DCAM

Hello crafty friends,
For my today's post I have created Diwali cards..as our festival of lights is just a month away..and as we need to prepare in advance....at DCAM store we have beautiful diya die....so I have used that and DCAM stencil..and made my cards..

My  first card is bright. For background I have done stenciling using Dcam stencil and distress oxides- spiced marmalade, abandoned coral, candied apple. I  have used  die cut frame , which I have highlighted with DCAM glitter ice candy, used hindi Slokas pattern paper in the middle and finally decorated with diya diecut in bright red Colors. Used Subha Deepavali sentiment.
In second card I have made shaker element with circle frame ,highlighted with DCAM glitter, and used diya diecuts in yellow, red in colours..here I have used sentiment inside shaker element.
Hope you have liked my work.. thank you for stopping by..for supplies I have used listed below... plz click on individual pictures and can check.
Love n hugs
