Brushed Paint Technique with DCAM

Hey guys!

Spardha here from The Lazy Owl Designs with an awesome technique I'd like to share with you today :)

So, like I promised, this one shall be the last Diwali post from my end and we'll be moving on to Christmas celebrations. Today, I'd like to share with you a brushed paint technique using dry embossing pads.

Embossing pads are fairly easy to use and provide you with a great texture for your project backgrounds as they are but they are super fun to use with added colours. Instead of using an ink pad, I dipped a dry paint brush into thick golden paint and swiped it on the embossing pad.
Inserting a solid white sheet of paper and embossing it using my Sizzix machine transferred the design with a beautiful washed-out colour effect on the card matt.

I added the diya cut-out with some "bling" and gold embossed sentiment to complete the look.

DIY Travel Journaling Kit with DCAM

Hey guys!
Spardha here today from The Lazy Owl Designs welcoming you to the month of October with some design inspiration.

Here comes the festive season!
And, along with that, some travel plans *YAY*

I've made a travel journaling kit using DCAM Stencils and chippies.
What is travel journaling you ask?
Well, it's a super fun way to record your memories with photos and messages filled up in a book.

This DIY shows you how to alter any box and a sketchbook for you to fill up with your travel photos and journaling. The MDF box I've used is 8 inches X 8 inches and shall be filled with some craft goodies for me to use during my travels.
Here's a video tutorial for you.

Also, have you guys tried the DCAM stencils with modelling paste yet?!
The material is super-thick and quite durable to be used with such mediums. Just make sure to rinse it immediately after use for easy cleaning

I hope you guys are inspired to travel and journal and use these amazing products from the DCAM Store:

Layout layering with DCAM tags!

Hey guys!
Spardha from The Lazy Owl Designs taking over the DCAM blog today for some start-of-the-week inspiration for you all :)

Supplies Used: Cardstock - beige, patterned paper scraps; Tools - Stitched tag dies,
Stamp - Kaisercraft; Embellishments - Sequins, pearl string, ice cube sprinkles;

I have created a simple and chic scrapbooking layout using these versatile stitched tag dies from the DCAM store!

Using the patterned paper as a base and a solid colour on top, so as not to overpower the layout with design itself. I love how you can layer and play around with these multiple sized tags I cut out.
Using a spritz of some of my DIY paint splatters and adding the final touches with this drool-worthy sequins and crystal ice cubes.

I hope I've inspired you enough to get creative with these amazing dies.
Also, these are an easy way to use up your paper scraps *just saying*
Don't forget to share some love :)

Polaroid Shaker Card with DCAM Dies

Hey guys!

It's Spardha from The Lazy Owl Designs taking over the DCAM blog space to share with you a super fun project I created using some amazing drool-worthy DCAM products!

First, wishing you all a very Happy Independence Day! Now in the spirit of celebration, we move to our project for the day.

Supplies Used: Cardstock - white, wine, purple; Vintage watercolor critter sheets; Dies - Polaroid Frames, Silhouette Foliage;
Embellishments - Crystal Ice Cubes, Sequins, pearls, mulberry flowers, paper flowers;

Today we have on the menu, a Polaroid frame shaker card. It's super easy, loads of fun and so versatile. And in order to share all the techniques I used with you, I have created a video tutorial.

Honest confession, I sat with all the DCAM critter sheets for over an hour thinking "wow these are beautiful" and a funny thought came into my head "Hey! Maybe I can frame them!"

Well, I did! And that's how I came up with this gorgeous card idea.
I have listed all the DCAM supplies used during the process and you do get to see a bit of "experimenting" on the card.
I doubles the foam for the back of the frame because I wanted to add thicker sprinkles (crystal ice cubes).

But seriously guys, there are a zillion ways to use the oh-so-beautiful critter sheets and the polaroid frame dies. So go ahead, get creative and share with us :)

Have a great creative week!
