Diwali Shaker Card with DCAM Die Set

Hey guys!
Spardha here today from The Lazy Owl Designs.
We wish you great health and prosperiety for the year and we hope you had a GREAT celebration for Diwali.

I'm here to share this amazing project I came up with while experimenting with DCAM Diya Die Cut Set. As you know, the dies are super clean-cutting and so easy to use, it is so much fun working with them.

I pre-cut a bunch of diya sets (mainly because I was having fun) but it gets really easy to mix and match colours once you have a couple of pre-cut designs with you.
Using red cardstock as a base for the card and cutting out the diya framework on the thick golden cardstock. I added a the double sided foam tape for the dimension and filled up the pocket with these gorgeous set of sequins.

Adding some finishing touches with gold embossed sentiment, flowers and twine.
I love how it turned out and I had a blast working with putting the designs together!

  • Diwali Banner makes it more auspicious to hang on the Entrance of Home or Pooja Room.
  • This unique Diya design Decoration set is must have for Diwali Home Decorations and also ideal for gift purpose with a pretty card.
Alert: Picture Heavy post!

Diwali Banner

I paired this beautiful banner with Diya die and Tags 2 dies.
For these, you need any thick designer paper, foam glitter sheet in different colors, round hooks and some beads in different colors.

First of all, I die cut some tags and a pair of Diya out of a designer sheet, Happy Diwali words from silver glitter sheet using Bold Alphabets, golden glitter sheet for making rings and banner top to decorate, and some more glitter sheet to decorate the Diya elements. Now arranged them as I shown in the pic.

And voila done, superrrrr quick!!! No need to expand a lot of money in the market now😄
And you know it can be folded easily to pack and also gift to someone!

Rangoli Platter

Now time to make the next matching item and without Rangoli the Diwali celebration is incomplete for me! And this time I prepared in advance:)hehe. And this set is so versatile you can maks so many different designs using this!!!

I started with a die cut circle out of a cardboard sheet. Applying white embossing paste using Mandala stencil. And quickly added some gold embossing glitter before drying the paste and heat embossed the pattern. Wow, what a great result with glitter and shine!

Using Pierced scalloped borders die I cut 4 strips out of a white CS.

Now die cut 4 Diyas again from a designer sheet. Decorate my Diyas with some half adhesive pearls and some jewels in different shapes. Added some gold glitter glue at the edges of diyas and all cuts to highlight it more. Same steps were applied for scalloped borders too.

Now I Die cut some Margeurita Flowers and leaves in different sizes, inked them, shaping them as shown in the pic. I made 2 of the flowers in same shade.

One in white with gold edges and the other one is distress with inks and highlighted with gold then. Now your Rangoli Platter set is ready.

Some variations using the same element kit.

And It's so versatile you can make so many unique designs using it. Here are some different samples to decorate!

Diwali Card

In the end. I made a matching Diwali card too!
I started with a black color pierced scallop border and here I used only stitched edge one. And by placing Diya die I die cut some of the parts out of it.

On a white card base I did some ink blending using DO, then added some water splatters and some white splatters to thinned white chalk paint for textures.

Now decorate my Diya as shown in the pic and I converted it into a shaker using festival mix sequins with lots of dimensions. Adhered that edge border along the one side to my white color card base. Added that Diya now with a flame. Embellished it with some stones and jewels.
Added the Celebrate sentiment with shadow touch. And finished with it with some stones.
The shaker elements are the perfect touch which is also from DCAM store.

Hoping you will create your own design now, would love to see!
Thanks for joining me!
