So Please give a Warm Welcome to SHILPI GUPTA. We look forward to see her wonderful work as DCAM DT. Over to Shilpi now...

Hello Everyone.
I am Shilpi from Gurgaon. I am software engineer by profession and a crafter by heart.

I am married to a wonderful man who has always supported me in following my passion.
I started my craft journey a year ago when I made the first card for my husband's birthday. While looking at online tutorials I came to know about different techniques in card making and then there was no looking back. Crafting helps me to release the stress of daily life.
Despite of my busy schedule I manage to steal few hours for crafting. I generally make cards, explosion boxes and scrapbooks. I love making punch crafted flowers. I run my own blog: http://shilpscrafts.blogspot.in/
Here are few of my creations.

I am so thrilled to join the DCAM team...I hope to live upto your expectations , and also hope to see your wonderful projects here.

Regards,
Shilpi

A Floral Tag

Hello friends,

Today I'm sharing  a Tag I made with the gorgeous Mist -eries from Die Cuts & More to wrap up this month's ongoing challenge ' Anything Goes with a Handmade Flower '

So here's my Tag-

I just love the look of these vibrant mists on the background  .To create this background , first i  randomly misted a transparency with True Turquoise and Emerald Green mists  , followed by some water drops to help the colours lighten. Once done I lightly  pressed the tag on it. Than using the Tim Holtz waterbrush, I simply coloured the white areas with diluted Amethyst purple mist .After heat setting it i stamped some areas with the Kaisercraft script stamp in black versafine ink.

Now here's a closer look -

The center bloom made with the Cheery Lynn Sweet williams die has been misted with Amethyst Purple mist. Just by adding water you can lighten or deepen the colour of the mist to achive the desired shade. I have added fussy cut elements like the black leaves and the flower from the gorgeous Prima Engraver papers . Also notice the bottom MS Wildflower border which has been misted with a light Turquoise Blue mist .

Working with the Mist-eries is Messy, but there is so  much fun and the possibilities are endless :) I absolutely adore the vibrancy of the colours !

Thats it from me , and hope you like my Tag , Would love to hear your comments !
Until now there have been some really outstanding projects entered into the challenge but there is still time for yours!

Baby Boy Layout

Hi Friends!!!
Today I want to share a BABY BOY LAYOUT with you. Its not my usual kinds...infact I have made something for a baby boy for the first time. I am a very girl obsessed person ( after all I am a mom of a  sweet lil girl). I find it really hard to create something for a boy, But this was done on order and so I had to. But to my surprise I really enjoyed making this. Well I have used a lot of dies here which I hoarded since so many days and now I repent...why the hell did I not use them. I thoroughly loved my cottage cutz dies. Baby Made Easy is such a beautiful baby border die. And there can't be anything better than Stork Banner to create anything for a new born baby , may it be a girl or a boy. I also pulled out my STAR DIE to uplift the background a lil. I used Clear Rock Candy Glitter on the stars . Well I guess too much of talking already done...its time to share my Layout...
I first pasted the pattern paper on chip board, then I have used gesso on the Pattern Paper and and distressed it with Tea Die distess ink, That completes the base of the LO.
Then I cut the chip board frame with Sizzix Bigz XL Die - Frame This is an awesome die...it cuts thickest chipboard like butter.I love this die...and there are so many uses to it...I also created a mini album using this die.

I have covered the text die cuts with Glossy Accents. And did I tell you that the Bassinet embellishment is created with This Die.I loved the stamp and die combination.I have colored the baby with my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers . Well I enjoyed making this layout to the fullest. I had to come out of my comfort Zone to attempt this..but it was real Fun. I hope I was able to inspire a few of you  to come out of your comfort Zone and try something new. Bye for now... OOPS!!!Just forgot to remind you ....there is till time to enter in Challenge # 1 ANYTHING GOES WITH A HANDMADE FLOWER and MEGA CANDY !!!! HURRYYYY the countdown has started already...

I just forgot to ask you did you like this new blue color  ( soon to be launched) , Its my favorite in fact all of them are, very difficult to decide which one is favorite of them all. Flowers are handmade and colored them with our very own  MIST-RIES .

                                                                 Closer view of Background

I have a Pictorial to share - How I created the background.

Materials Required -

Modelling paste , gesso , stencil ( I love my new Kaisercraft stencil), tissue and cardstock

STEP- 1

Randomly I have dropped some gesso over my Card stock and with the help of tissue i have spread all over the CS. You don't have to be perfect for this ( its good to be messy :P)

STEP-2

Now , I have used Sakura Modelling Paste and it awesome . Its thick , the more you add it will add more depth to your piece of work.

STEP -3

And finally Mist- ries , I have used Emerald Green and Emethyst Purple here , but in my card I have used Blue Sapphire and True Torquise  . I love the boldness and brightness of these colors.

This is how my card looks all packed and ready to go !!

Hope I was able to inspire you all . And it reminds have you participated in our first challenge  if not and then do so I am sure you don't want to miss the chance of owning our brand new MIST-RIES ( trail pack). And have you entered yourself for Crafty Feast DCAM CANDY  if not then get started .

A Gorjuss Card

Hi everyone,

This is Sachi here and today i am sharing my inspiration for this month's challenge theme which is ' Anything goes with a Handmade flower '. Here's how the card looks -

Since i wanted to use the colour combo of Brown , Turquoise and neutrals i choose the Prima Lifetime papers , i simply adore this collection .It  has loads of cute ,chirpy phrases along with vintage motifs , newsprint flowers and soft gentle colours .

Here's a closeup of the gal -

Aren't these Gorjuss dolls just very different i mean cute yet with lots of attitude? I have used the stamp called' I Found My Family in a Book 'here.

As you can see the layout is pretty simple ,since i was totally into colouring this gorjuss gal, yes i had fun colouring her up for sure !

The hair and the skin has been done with some yummy alcohol markers and prisma pencils . Die Cuts and More has an amazing collection of these alcohol markers which makes life easy.To make it more easier they have also come up with there own range of Linen textured white and black cardstock  which works beautifully for stamped images .Its nice and thick and  takes water and inks very well .

Now a closer look at the flowers-

I wanted the base layer of the flowers to look ruffled and very white so for that i have used thin white cupcake liner papers:) The rest of the embellies are from my stash .

So how do you like my card ?
I would love to hear from you ,so do drop me a line :)
Thank you for stopping by and please take a look at the yummy crafting supplies underneath. -

And do not forget to participate in this month's amazing challenge which is " Anything goes with a Handmade flower"

Cheers,
Sachi

Here's another one!

For the base i've used a tag from Prima tag pad, i've layered it with a pattern paper from Prima Lifetime paper pad its a perfect paper pad for mixed media has printed textures, doilies with cracked effects. Next i took Peacock Feathers Distress Ink and inked the background using a crafters worksop template to add a pop of colour. I've used some tiny nail glitter to add dimension to the background :P

I made flowers using Spellbinders Rose Creation die i've inked them with peacock feathers and added pearls to them.

I've also used a branch die cut using a sizzix die, i made some stick pins using pearls and crystals from my stash, next i've used some mulberry leaves, punched betterflies, liquid pearls, a die cut from the paper pad and the gorgeous ribbon available at our website.

Next and the main feature of the card- i've coloured the Gorjuss doll stamp using my steadlars with my water brushes.

P.s- its my very first attempt at colouring and i know i must have made lots n lots of mistakes, but its never too late to learn so all you colouring PRO's pleaseeee do drop me some tips n tricks (lots of love for that) :P

Sweet Williams Flower Tutorial

Hello crafters,

I will be sharing a tutorial post on how to make a flower from the Cheery Lynn sweet Williams die. The beauty of this versatile die is that one can make 3-4 types of flowers by altering the techniques, here are few pictures-

After some trial-and-error...this is the way I made the flower, I think it almost resembles a marigold bloom The pictures are posted below with the step-by-step instructions...

 You will need:
Sweet Williams die
Tweezers

TUTORIAL
Step 1
This flower type requires 3 large , 2 2nd largest and 3 small die cuts-

Lightly mist the all the flower shapes with the Mist-ries ink spray with the desired color leaving some white spaces on few of the petals; I have used Citrine Orange here.

Step 2
With the misted side facing the mat emboss each of petals of the largest shape with the molding tool.

Once done turn the flower over and emboss/cup the flower center as shown in the picture. This will form the base layer

Step 3
Likewise take another shape with the misted side facing up and cup each of the petals with the molding tool. This will form the 2nd layer

Now layer and stick them on the previous die cut in a way that the 1st layer petals overlap the base

Step 4
Take the medium size die cuts and place the tweezers in the centre of each petal and apply firm pressure so that the side edges curl upwards.

Clasp the petal edges with the tweezer and tightly press to form a crease.

This is how the flower shape will show -

Step 5
Layer 3 shapes with the petals overlapping each other.

Step 6
Now finally take the smallest shape and cup the petals as done for the first layer.
Follow the technique as in step 2 for the last 3 smallest shapes.
Place glue into centre of larger petal base flowers add the corresponding layers and press firmly with the end of the molding tool into middle.

This is how the flower will look, you can also add pollens in the center of the flower . Die Cuts and more has a beautiful collection of pollens at reasonable prices.

And this is how I have used this flower on my Tag-

I would love to know your thoughts on this tutorial so please do drop me a line :)...I will appreciate your suggestions!
Have a great day ahead !
