Its a Girl!

Hello Everyone, Piyanki here today with a brand new card using the DCAM Stencil and dies. Its a very cute project and I thoroughly enjoyed creating it.

So before we proceed, hope you all are enjoying our current challenge. We have some amazing response till now and hope to see more.

So 2 days left for the challenge to close and you still have time so hop on HERE.

So now its turn for the project. I will explain in detail how I created this.

The final card measures 5.5x5.5. It has 3 layers.

First layer is made with water color background. Used the DCAM Die " Its a Girl" and placed it diagonally. Later used shades of pink distress ink for the water color effect.

Once the layer is created, tore it and distressed the edge. For the second layer Used the DCAM Stencil to create a background with texture paste. Its a pink CS and hence did not color the background. Left it white textured.

Now for the center piece. I used the DCAM square die and die cut 10 pieces. Created a stack with 8 and then used the rest two after placing the sequins.

At the bottom stamped a baby stamp on a vellum sheet from my collection to add to the theme.

This way if you make any shaker its much easier and also the sequins would not stick to the sides.
The flowers, lace, trims are all from my collection.

Later finished the card with some candy rock glitter and white splatter.

So do let me know how you like it. Share your comments.

DIe Cuts and More with Candles and Stencils

Greetings crafty friends. Just stopping in to give you a quick sneak peek for next months Challenge. Used a little of this month and a little of next and made a video* to show you how I did this project.

For this project I used a white candle, white tissue paper, the DCAM Bricked stencil, DCAM Friends die and Red shimmer spray, and parchment paper.

As you can see in the video first I spritzed the shimmer spray over the stencil to give a brick background and set aside to dry. I then used my big shot to cut the die. Once the brick pattern was dry I cut it to size and taking a piece of parchment paper to hold it with I used my heat tool to melt the wax of the candle to the tissue paper. Turning the candle around, using another piece of parchment paper

I did the same with the die cut and melted the "friends" in to the side.

My project was complete at this point. The candle has a scent without burning it, so it will just sit on the fireplace as is in a glass candle jar.

Cubicles

Hi crafty friends!
Gayatri here. At the outset let me remind you that you have just a week left to submit your entries to our first challenge. You have to use any of the stencil from the October release and three colors from the color palette

Before I go to the card I made as inspiration, I want to review the DCAM 2 step stencil - Cubicles. I had already shared a video on using the 2 step stencil in one of my previous posts. The 2 step stencil is so versatile that you can experiment with individual layers. The stencils are numbered A & B.

I have used the first layer (A) of cubicle stencil. The pictures will show how I created a background with 3 different DI.

For the next background I used the stencil B. I used two different DI colors.

You can see that the two step stencil gives you lots of options to play with.
Now my inspirational card:
I used the stencil A and created the background with various DI and cut it slanting. I adhered the pieces on to pure white card front with foam tape leaving a gap. I stamped the sentiment in the space between the two pieces. I stamped the image from Altenew stamp - Wild Hibiscus stamp set, on to watercolor paper and colored it with no-line coloring method using Zig color brush pens. I fussy cut the image and stuck it to the panel. Added few sequins to finish the card.

Sending Hugs!

Hello Crafty Peeps, with the winter setting in hope it makes all the fun crafting. Today I am here to review and talk about how we can use stencils in different way.

Before that we are getting some amazing entries for our ongoing challenge and incase you have not visited us yet, directing you CHALLENGE DETAILS.

Heading towards my post. I am using the Ocean Spray Stencil today for my project. In my last post I have used the same stencil with distress ink on a white background to create the card.

Today I wanted to show how we can use the same stencil for a tone on tone background.

I have taken some colored card stock and co coordinating distress ink. You can take any ink in this case.

One very important information is to identify the right side of your stencil as it will differ when using paste or liquid paste as sometime it blurs unless you want that effect.

I have used a die from my stash to create the card. Later I used the die cut and swapped it different colored CS.

And here whats the final look of the project.

Hope you like it and do share your creation with us using the stencil. We would love to see the different ways of how to use the stencils.
